Won't start can't start

Hi everyone. I got my new magician put together and I've got compression, spark, but seems like it's not getting fuel as my plug is dry and it won't start. Turns over fine.

Help appreciated

Verify the fuel shut off is in the correct position (pointing straight down) and not horizontal. Verify gas is getting to the carburetor. Verify gas is filling the bowl of the carburetor, may require carburetor removal. Getting that carburetor out is not easy. To work on it the gas tank and seat have to come off.

Came to me, a quick way to verify whether you have fuel in the carburetor bowl is to find the bowl drain screw on the bottom of the carburetor that has a hose attached and open it. If gas flows out you know you have fuel.

If you are sure you are getting spark, then I guess it's not your kickstand like was the original posters issue . I would bet you are not drawing through your carb if you are getting fuel to the bowl. Remember your cam turns once for 2 rotations of the crank , and it's possible to be 180 degrees off on your cam during valve adjustment, even though you are at TDC. I would re check your valves. Pull the spark plug, using the kicker to crank it,and watch them. You can adjust your intake with the exhaust open, and vise versa . If you want to pull the airbox to carb tube off the carb, and hand choke it you should feel it pulling on the palm of your hand, of course the plug has to be in.
