Valve shims? I don't think your motor has shims and buckets, just adjustable rockers.

i probably used the wrong term, i mean the tool u use to adjust the valves

Ah. Feeler gauges.
I don't know about that year of XR250, but the '84 + '85 XR200's were a mess. Honda promptly returned to the original XR200 style in '86. That's enough for me to stay away from the XR250 of that year.
