I would try a starter solenoid that bolts to the older style Fords on the fender well.

They should handle the load, and are easy to find.

Will do the job just fine. Otherwise I sent Ironfist one from a Honda that he was able use and I think it fit in his stock holder.

The honda part is expensive new though.

The lawnmower one will outlast the china part and can easily handle the job. It is just a big relay.

I think I temp fixed my solenoid. The two terminals can be loosened and tightened. I loosened both and tried the starter and nothing happened so I tightened down the power terminal all the way and loosened the starter terminal and somewhere between all the way tight and all the way loose I found the right position and electrical taped it in place. Now my bike starts with the solenoid. haha -Cory

Ok, so tail light is now fully functional as well as brake light after I had a local motorcycle shop soder the power and brake wires back on (they did it for free!! www.davidsonscycles.com) . I somewhat fixed the solenoid by electrical taping the starter terminal down very very tight with tightening bolt lose if that makes since. Oiled my air filter re-lubed my clutch cable with white lithium grease, and ordered a new rear tire. I ordered a shinko 244 dual sport tire for the rear. Got it for $30 with $28 for 2nd day S&H at www.bikebandit.com , will let you know how that tire does. Everything else is doing great! -Cory

Glad to hear you're mobile!

I can't speak for the dual sport tires, but I've been running Shinko street tires on my bikes for a couple of years, am I am really happy with them. Definatly stickier than the Bridgestone Spitfires I was runnign before, and same if not better thread life.

Feel more slippery in the rain though-- Could just be me however...

Let us know how the D/S tires feel, k?

Figured out why my license plate light isnt working. Looks like the plastic rubber socket melted around the light. Looks like the internal parts are still intact but I have to check for positive and negatives touching. Does anyone know where I should look to find a replacement bulb? It really is a tiny bulb. Thanks -Cory

Take the bulb to your favorite auto parts stealer, and tell them you want an LED upgrade :idea:

That should keep the bulb a little cooler, and possibly preventing additional melting.

Also, most autoparts stores will have universal bulb sockets, with a few inches of wire sticking out of them. Might be a good idea to replace the melted socket, and then run the led upgrade.

I got an LED taillight for my Honda. It works but its kinda dim. Saddly it's amber and not bright white.
