Thank you, Rob.
Yes, I was wet above my waist. I ruined a digital camera I had hanging on my belt, and I lost my cell phone in the mud pond as well. Fortunately, the camera was a few years old, and the phone was a 'dumb phone.' I was happy to get a ride out; I was about 8 miles from the nearest town. The next day I came back with my trailer, and parked at the trailhead. I quickly got a ride on an ATV back to the abandoned Zong. After changing both the spark plug and CDI unit, I got the bike to run. I rode back the the car, and trailered the bike home.

[QUOTE=SpudRider;206339]Krylon Fusion spray paint, in Gloss Patriotic Blue, would do a nice job.
Btw, used gloss fusion black on mine and it didn't leave it that glossy. I am going to apply fusion gloss clear as overcoat (warning, urathane based spray clear mares the finish, don't use it. Use that polycrillic spray or fusion glOSS clear only for clearcoat). Will let ya know how it turns out.

I finished painting the YamaZong with Patriotic Blue, Krylon Fusion spray paint. I also sprayed Krylon Fusion Clear Coat, with UV protection, over the painted plastic. Here are some photos of the finished paint job.
Here is a photo of the new metric speedometer, which is mounted behind the blue headlight shroud.

Good grief, except for the tarnished undercarriage it looks like a new bike. I looked but couldn't find fusion clear, I bought that polycrillic spray and did a test patch which will work, just need some sun and warm.
Do you have to wait for breaker in period or can you hammer it now. Curious to know top gps speed with that new yam engine. Is it true 250cc I wonder what people think of us taking pics of our bikes .

Thank you. After 70,000 miles, the bike is a little dirty, but the paint job turned out nice.
The engine is still a little tight, and I might need to tweak the carburetor jets, change sprockets, et cetera. I also need to check the speedometer versus a GPS receiver. The engine has a displacement of 223 cubic centimeters.

Thank you, gentlemen. I really like the Patriot Blue color. I am thinking of painting my Zongshen RX3 in the following color scheme, in Patriotic Blue.

Rx3 ...Uh oh here we go.
A good steel wool rub down on that undercarriage side, prep with alcohol or other similar product and some Platinum gloss regular rattle can paint would finish the resto. 140,000mi just around the corner

Do me a favor just for s**** and giggles, paint the front bar blue and post it. That round guard bar like they do on some of the factory models.
