After riding today. We went to ladysmith motorsports.
And right at the door was a brand new pw50 with training wheels on it. Only 1200 bucks So I bought it training wheels and all Just kidding I asked how much they wanted for just the training wheels 210 DOLLARS ! I'm just gunna keep keeping my eye out for a used dolly or just the tires/pressure washer tires and make a set. I got home cleaned our bikes. And tinkered with Haileys bike for a bit. It's running great. Rides great. But won't idle long... It will idle for I'm guessing 30-45 seconds then die. I can listen to it and give it a rev here and there to keep it alive. But hailey won't know to do that yet. Any ideas ? Thanks Dave |

Did you pass anything through the slow jet when you cleaned the carb? I (carefully) use a single wire from a wire brush. If it's partially clogged, it'll struggle to idle without the choke.

Do you have a design in mind for the training wheels? Are you gonna mount them to the rear triangle like a bicycle, or outboard of the pegs, like outriggers?

Let us know if you have a design in mind, or if you find pics. Perhaps I have some parts laying around that I could contribute.

Those split rims might have bushings that can be swapped for bearings, which are cheap at Princess.

The 'new' kick start lever looks good. You are making good progress on the training wheels.

Small update for haileys bike.
My brother picked up an axle and new tires from princess auto the other day. I'll get pics shortly. Tires he got are a lot nicer and seem more suited for the task I also ordered hailey a couple Christmas presents for her bike http://www.ebay.com/itm/281448064991 And http://www.ebay.com/itm/181465203928 I've been struggling with a length of wire as the choke cable for long enough. And I'm hoping starting fresh with a new carb will help getting it run better Dave |

I was pleased to find PA on the Island, the last time I was there. It's a bonus that it's next to Capital Iron.
A new carb will hopefully make it run like new.

I've still never been to the PA lol
Here are the new wheels They were on sale for 4.99 ea. Here is one next to haileys bike for size comparison Outside diameter is very similar to what I had before. But these seem less bouncy. And price was right My brother also picked up an axle. No pic it's just a 5foot length of 5/8" solid stock Part of the deal was. He wanted the other tires I had. And he gets to keep the off cut of the axle Also ordered a proper fuel valve for the bike Price was right. And I don't like the inline one that's on it now http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=161498274371 Dave Last edited by Dave_D; 11-30-2014 at 04:12 PM. Reason: Update |

Like my comment about the first set of wheels you had, you can separate the split rims and remove the bushings. New sealed bearings are cheap at PA, which will keep these wheels rolling for a long time.
