Fj, I'm getting steer crazy here in Walla Walla also with this winters weather. If work allows I may take off Wed and head on down. Maybe go visit cousins in Bakersfield or head into LA and visit Malcolm Smith Powersports and go through his museum and maybe get to meet him in person and buy his coffee table autobiography book. I'll be in a silver Ford Ranger with the RX3 on back bumper mount hauler. See you there or along the way, rj

I am leaving at 0300 on Thursday morning to try t miss the commute traffic of Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia and Portland. Plan on driving until tired and then finding a test stop or RV place to sleep. If I go far enough the first day I may make it to Azusa in two days rather than a leasurely three. Drive safe. I'll be in my 25' Forest River Forester Motorhome with a Stinger trailer behind it.

Inroads, sorry no pic of the RX3 on trailer hitch mount hauler. I decided to put it up in the pick up as I felt the hauler was too flimsy for the run to and from Los Angeles of 2400 miles. Tie down points were in middle of bike so it didn't compress forks. Trying to load it in the rain and slippery mud messed up my 60yo back . Hope it feels better when I get down there. Oh well at least I'll have rest of month to recoup. Anyways I'm having a great start off to our Baja adventure. No pain , no gain some naught head said.
I'm thinking of you guys back east with the storm. Stay safe, I'm outta here. rj

Drive safe and get that back fixed up. I'll need it to help me pickup my bike in the sand :-)

I just finished loading everything up to start my trip that way. Leaving at 3am!

See ya there!

Joe

I had an RJ sighting on the way down yesterday. He was behind me by 25 exits and catching up and I randomly pulled off to pee and when I jumped back and on the freeway he'd caught and passed me so I gunned it so I could wave. Just before I got to him he exited the freeway and I was caught out in the fast lane. I'll meet him for real tomorrow!

I made it to Azusa this afternoon also . Went over to Malcolm Smiths store and visited with him for maybe an hour. 1st time I've met and talked with him. Very interesting. He's getting ready to take around 30 riders into Baja next month for their yearly ride. Mostly all dirt trails and single track
Stopped by CSC late and everyone had gone home so I got a motel down the street and had some dinner at Chick Fi La ,another first for me. Tomorrow morning I may try an get to the Brea tar Pits before heading to CSC by 5, rj
