I feel bad for not reading absolutely everything and seeing if this was addressed...I actually had this happen twice on my lil monster. I replaced the 8mm with a longer 5/16" - I actually think that I put half an inch longer on both the top and the rear, then put lock washers. That stopped the mount from vibrating on the threads and breaking them all over again.
I haven't put threadlocker on mine just yet, but in over 1000 miles, I haven't actually needed it. I've checked the tightness multiple times, but it has stuck right in place. Not to say that you shouldn't, just that I haven't needed it in my experience. I did this same procedure on my Hellcat before going anywhere, since this is apparently a common issue - I'm about 600 miles on the hellcat with the same experience after the replacement. EDIT: I just read a few posts before this, which echoes my observations about the length of the bolt. So take this post as a 'I second that' post. Last edited by siikmonkee; 06-22-2018 at 04:18 PM. It's an old trick and there might not be enough space to do this but if there is , you can always use a little bit longer bolt and use a lockwasher, run the the first nut tight on it, and then add a second nut and tighten it against the first one. It won't ever come loose again that way .In any case yeah everything I have read about caring for or modding these Grom clones no matter which one it is , has said to repl all the engine mount bolts with non " chinesium" ones right away ,and also the swing arm bolt as well altho that doesnt seem to fail quite as bad as the engine mount ones do.

I have a Boom bd-125. First stock bolt broke ~400 miles. I added a second bolt that I was too short so the threads ended up at the interface of the engine and the mount. That broke around 100 miles later. Ive replaced it with a longer bolt this time so well see how it goes.

On my BD 125-8 on the lower bolt the nut is at a place where I can barely see let alone take off. It isn't behind the sprocket cover like it is on some of these other bikes, I don't know how to get to it. Any idea's

If you're looking at the front sprocket the nut is to the lower right hand corner. To access it you need to take the chain and the rubber chain aligner off. That should give you enough room to get a socket with an extension in there. Either that or try to get to the nut with a wrench through the bottom.
Hopefully that helps! |

I changed the sprocket it's not there. I looked underneath and I see the nut. It doesn't go all the way through into the sprocket cover.
