You think your chevette is slow. The diesel was NA and about 45hp. I had a 5 speed at least. 45 around town. 55-60 on the highway.

The engine ran great, but the car fell apart. Between the non functioning doors, rust, and then the siezed transmission bearing it was retired.

You're developing a soft spot for small engines. Me too.

Does your Chevette have the crooked steering column?

Mine did. I had a 79 and 76 too. The 79 was our yard cart.

You made my day with that vid, KD.

You're gonna have to start a new thread showing us before and after shots of your 'Vette. I'm interested to see the colour change.

The dash layout on your scoot looks pretty good. I especially like how you haven't taken the plastic off yet; do your lampshades have the plastic on them too? Really, it is a nice looking scoot. When do you plan on upgrades, like the new muffler you spoke of?

The circle of toadstools is a fairy ring. They were a curse when I lived in Edmonton.

What's under the tarp in the first pic? Is it a Model A?

The Vega rims look really good!

I had a report of one the floats not adjusted properly. He removed the sending unit and adjusted the float. Gas guage worked fine from then on.

Do you have an auto parts store nearby? I buy NGK plugs at Oreilly for $2.

What type of oil are you using in the gearbox? What about the engine?

I use Mobil 1 full synthetic 75/90 in the gear box. It onlt takes a few ounces.

For the engine 10w40 something. No clutch to worry about so automotive service.
