Hi culcune, I´m sorry to hear about your accident, hope you have a quick, full recovery, when is the San Felipe Race?
Also take in consideration that´s a lot more distance to get there, anyway let´s do some more planning via PM..

NEW product claims light pattern & brightness better than "3-sided".

Thank you for informing us of the new version of this LED bulb, Humanbeing.

I need one of these for my bike.
I bet they don't have my bulb type.
I need a dual filament.
How good are these?

Also what all wattages do they make?
My charging system and battery aren't the best on the clone z50.
They made these with a weak stator when charging The battery & I don't know if putting a high wattage led on DC current will down the battery.
My lights run off the stator except the brake light wich runs DC current.

LEDs require direct current, so you can't run an LED bulb directly from the stator. You will need to purchase a rectifier if you wish to use an LED bulb with your bike's electrical system.

My bulb lights 2 LEDs on low beam, and 3 LEDs on high beam. I think my bulb draws about 20 watts on high beam. You can check the rest of the thread, and the eBay links to verify that data.

Upgrade to ALL DC config isn't hard. There's "stronger" ready made stator w/o ANY [IGN Source Coil] http://www.dansmc.com/electricaltesting.htm + New DC-CDI & rec

Thank you for contributing that information, Humanbeing. I installed a new stator in my Honda CRF250X, and converted that motorcycle to a 100 percent, direct current system. That is the reason I could install an LED headlight in that motorcycle without installing a rectifier. Indeed, Black Death can do the same. Incidentally, I didn't need to change my CDI unit, and he might not need to change his CDI unit, either. However, many people, if not most people, will find it easier to install a rectifier. One can purchase the rectifier at Taobao, as is shown earlier in this thread.

Thanks for posting the excellent link, Humanbeing.

As the link shows, one also needs to install a larger regulator/rectifier (RR) along with the new stator. My new, larger stator retained the exciter coil for the stock, AC-CDI unit, so I didn't need to change the CDI unit for my Honda CRF250X. I bought a Trail Tech stator, with a larger regulator/rectifier to convert my Honda to a pure, direct current (DC) system.

My bike has a rectifier to charge the battery.
I can re wire the bike to run on DC current for the headlights & tail lights but only with LEDs so they will draw minimal wattage.
Well, let me rephrase that. The tail light will draw minimal current.
The LEDs with higher wattage will draw some current & may slowly drain the battery at idle.

Yes, you can connect the LED headlight directly to the battery, but the 20W load will quickly drain your battery, and eventually ruin it. That's why I suggested you install the rectifier designed for the LED, which will continue to power your headlight from the lighting coil of the stator, as the motorcycle was designed to do. This is the simplest, least expensive way to safely run the brighter, LED headlight. You merely connect the headlight rectifier in series with the current wiring to the headlight.

How much is that one you posted spudrider?
I wonder how many watts I can get away with on an led headlight bulb?
I never ride it at night, only daytime riding so high output isn't really necessary
