MEDMUNDS, thank you for your post! I have an old Mikuni carb for a two-stroke bike, and the hole for the float pin is worn out; I thought the carb was junk. You've given me the info I need to fix it.

BTW, JB Weld doesn't actually state that it is suitable for gasoline, but Permatex Cold Weld does. I used Cold Weld to repair a gas tank with good results.

Thanks for the tip concerning Permatex Cold Weld, Weld (pun intended)! I see that product is even sold at Motorcycle Superstore! However, I'm sure it's also sold at most auto parts stores.

I guess the price went up. Did you have any problems getting the order placed? Did you talk to Manny, or someone else? Did you communicate via email, or telephone? In general, how difficult was the transaction, MM? :?:

oh its was kinda of difficult and idk who i talked too but i called and talked to somebody then they sent me a email with a document i had print and fill out this this paper to fill out like my address and card info and what im ordering and then email it back to the guy and i havent heard back yet so idk but i had to call twice to get the email with the document of the paper and looks like ill have to call again to see if they got my email or not It is kinda of a crappy way to do business i just wish it was like a normal ordering web site like rocky mountain or motorcycle superstore.

Heres that document i had to fill out:

In the age of technology, that seems like an odd way to do business.

I haven't ordered anything from Zongshen America for a while. I usually stock up with items when I order, so I can save time and minimize shipping costs. The steps you followed are SOP (standard operating procedure) at Zongshen America.

An online ordered site would be more convenient. However, even if the current ordering system is less convenient, I'm still glad Zongshen America maintains a warehouse of parts in Miami, Florida.

yea i gotcha an even thought the ordering process isn't in my favor, them having a warehouse full of oem parts diffidently makes up for it in my books cause on some of these bikes its a pain to find a few of the parts.

You might need to call them again to "remind" them you are waiting for your parts, MM. I think they are a bit understaffed, and give Zongshen dealers priority treatment. Nevertheless, it's nice they will sell parts to individual customers, and not dealers only.

well i got new fender, coil, key switch today so i thought id put those on and make a set of new handle bars since the others where bent to shit so heres a few photos of the work i did today but still lots more to come and i did decide make it to a flat track race bike i ended up falling in love with flat track racing!!

one thing im gonna do in the new few days is cut the sub frame and drop it down and make it more flat cause the back of the frame just sweeps up!

heres a pic of the bike im trying to make mine look like!
