You'll have to drop the rear tire to get the air box out the backside....if you're going to leave it intact like I did. I even took all the screws and parts off of it and it wouldn't come out the side. Good thing I was gutting the bike anyway! ;-)

doesn't the airbox provide more flood protection for stream crossings?

He lives on a volcano, are you sure you didn't mean steam crossings?

LOL...no kidding.

Yep, the airbox will provide more stream protection....if you have streams.....or really deep ones. I kind of think though that if I'm "tank deep" in a creek, I may have more immediate problems than my air filter. ;-)

Seriously though, I guess the protection of an air box is more regional than anything. There's nothing around my area even remotely deep...or wet....especially in a drought. My concern is more dust.

Well, no parts last night on the porch. :-( Supposed to get some tonight though.

Last night I got the front end put back on so the bike is looking more normal, ran the new vent line off the case to the ground that used to go to the air box, capped off the vac line on the gas tank that used to go to the evap canister so the tank is ready to go now. Then, cleaned and prepped the exhaust system ready for wrapping tonight when the wrap shows up. Pics to follow tomorrow.

In 2LZ's wonderful area of California a stream deep enough to splash the airbox would make the evening news everywhere in a 150 mile radius ;-)

So, in the 2lz speed shop catalog how much will you sell this upgraded csc tt250? May want to retire and start a business off that little harbor freight table.

Course may be difficult in the future having a chineese import business with the arrival of djt vs China trade embargo. something for all to consider about these bikes.

Retire??? What the hell is that!?

In all honesty, as I've said prior, I've had an absolute blast with this project so far. The TT250 has been a joy to work on, everything fits and nothing has broken in process due to lack of quality like the CB's of old. If I can help others with some oddball stuff I may find, possibly get a few more ponies out of it, or find that the weight savings is worth the trouble if someone wants to attempt all of this, great. If not, I'll give my honest opinion like I did on the carb. It's all about the exploration man! ;-)

What a great attitude.

I agree 100%.

Some guys stop working and check out mentally and drop dead right away. Not rare.

I plan to die at my desk signing my last chart on my last successful diagnosis and treatment but I don't plan to work this $#%^ing hard forever. Maybe part time volunteer/missionary work +/- move back home to California.

Haha, judging from your posts, I don't think you have any trouble doing the things you love.
