I am sure I will have more invested later, but we will just improve it a little at a time. The 2 5/16" ball hitch works just fine. New jack will arrive in a few days. I have a set of good tires for it already.

You're gonna love the brake controller installation process. There's a connector that is ready for it.

Should be a simple enough process. Will make towing the trailers more enjoyable too. I think we are going to rent a camper this year. Makes more sense than owning one.

We finished taking the camper down to the frame. I want to add some more bracing in and then redo the floor with new 2x8 decking. I am also considering moving the axles ahead and cutting about 5 feet off. That would give me an 8x20 deck.

That's a good size. Are they 3500lb axles?

Two 3500lb axles. The frame is pretty stout. I would place the heavy items over the axles. Likely the very front of the trailer would be lightweight items.

People often ask me why and how the fock I do some of the things I do. Next time I think they're disparaging my efforts I'll show them this. Pass down your abilities, they may again become necessity.

Kato, you're already aware of this, so these comments are largely for those who are researching trailer construction.

If you chop the deck to 8x20 and then relocate the axles, be sure to place the middle point that is between the two axles at 60% of the deck length, not including the tongue. In your case, the center of the equalizer that is between the two axles would be at the 12' mark. If you build a single axle, the 60% mark would line up with the centre of the hub.

I am aware. I have pulled trailers that are not correct or have had the load not positioned right.

I think that I am going to leave it long. The front section I am going to build some sides on to load branches, leaves, lawn clippings or other loose items. This will have a lighter duty floor and then the rear will get built to support heavier things above the axles.

Do you intend to make the sides removable?

Yes. I want to keep the trailer as versatile as possible.

Free motorhome follow me home Saturday. Already stripped. Engine and trans pulled and sold. Few parts sold off of it and the chassis is sold and likely gone tomorrow. All that provided cash just in time to hopefully finish my truck project.
