Well, Mrs. 2LZ took off to town this morning and as soon as her tail lights were around the corner, I swiped her TT250 and put on about 50 miles! It's already starting to loosen up. It's no fireball but boy is it fun! WOO HOO! It seems like it has longer gears and more usable bottom end torque than the RX3. It may just seem that way due to only a 5 speed and it's lighter, but it's got some constant pull between 3500-5000 rpms. Really starting to like this bike!

Realizing no mods yet, and break in baby-ing, how does it compare with your mod-ed 200cc "Q".

Do you think you will Dyno test this one before and after mods too?

How much does a dyno test cost for a m c ?

Right now, not being broke in and bone stock, the TT it's a slug compared to Q....but this can all be easily modded after the fact. The CG motor may not be able to produce the top end power of an OHC motor like what's in Q, but the CG motor will definitely out-torque Q in the long run. The CG motor can develop really nice mid-range power in a nice sweeping power band. My X-Moto has great mid range and response. Q winds higher and makes more top end but the X-Moto is definitely snappier.

I did not dyno test Q myself. Back in the day when many of us were building the Q Links here, there were some real "path forgers" including a member named Boost Crazy. He had his own dyno so we'd follow his lead on his mods. The attached link is just with a pipe and jetting. Q came stock with a 15+ HP and you can see the results. Other than the K&N filter, which ended up doing no real improvement over the stock filter, my Q is modded exactly like this, jetting and all.

I spent some time yesterday checking the bike over.

I re-routed the front brake cable.
I lubricated and adjusted the speedometer cable so it isn't smashed up against the backof the headlight housing.
I re-aligned the rear wheel and adjusted the chain tension.
I snugged down all fasteners.
I attached the original trunk from my RX3 to the OEM rack.

Everything is in place except for the registration. I'll have to wait until Tuesday morning for that.

Cheers,

Dan K.

So here is the evidence that it really did happen. I got it on Friday and rode it a bit yesterday late in the day. I can tell this is going to be a fun bike!! Notice it's the fastest color, BTW.

In fact, it's so fast, it broke the speedometer. LOL! Actually, I followed the advice provided by my fellow CR's on this excellent world-renowned forum and I removed the cable, greased it, rerouted it and then when I went to ride it, the needle moved slightly for a couple of minutes and then stopped registering at all, so I don't know if I didn't reroute it good enough or what. I'm going to look at it again today.

Also it looks like the chain needs tightening a bit, even though before I rode it it looked okay.

I tried doing an "unboxing" video on Friday, but I think I may have messed it up. Dang computers!!

One other thing I noticed is that finding neutral is nearly impossible when the engine is running. I'm sure that will become easier after break-in and I switch over to synthetic. I've noticed people talking about that issue with CB's, but I had the opportunity to ride a Honda Nighthawk a few weeks ago and it had the exact same problem and this was not a new bike, so this is not an issue just for CB's.

Speaking from the RX3 up until I switched to the full syn finding neutral from first was a pain. Now it slips into neutral with ease. 500 miles, full syn and getting more acquainted made the difference in mine.
