when i almost had it idling just right, it would idle properly for maybe 5 seconds then it would rev up a bit on the 6st second. i asumed it was still idling a bit low....
so your saying my carb cant be too tight on the flange or it will leak... |

It can but more specifically it can distort the roundness or the carb body and make the slide stick.

the gio couldnt stay at idle by itself. i was feeding it a bit of gas to keep it alive and to warm it up. i took it for a small ride down to block nice a easy the bike was running amazing, more torque, more low end and high end power, no lag or bogging at low or high rpm's and it sounds much better . i just had a hard time to get it to idle right .
i dont hink there is a leak, Fastdoc your putting dout in my mind ! if there was a leak it would not have ran well or at all, let alone better than before right!? i guess more tuning is required. "Almost there" as Weld put it |

The typical symptom of an air leak is a 'hanging idle'.
The bike 'revs down' poorly and very slowly if at all when the throttle is twisted. Under power it will seem to ride normally. The problem is that if it is an air leak, and it may not be, it creates a lean condition that may seriously harm the motor. Also if there is an air leak the air going right to the cylinder is unfiltered.

What happens if you simply turn the idle up a little?

when i was adjusting the idle i was almost screwed in completly.....
i wasnt sure if i should touch the pilot screw...or .... put the needle jet down one notch and readjust the idle in consequence i called two bikes shops that said quite rudely said they dont work on chinesse bike even if im asking if they can tune my japanesse carb..... a friend of mine is a used auto salesman, that business employs three or four full time mechanics. one of the mechanics came by the house to buy an Subaru wrx engine from my friend, so i showed him my dirtbike and asked if he felt comfortable working on it, he said we could try but he didnt seem as confident as i would have liked :? i think im going to give it one last try on my own before i incur anymore costs for this project. any reading material or videos would be really really apriciated, thanks

The pilot screw controls the transition from idle to main, so it won't affect idle.
The needle clip comes into effect at about half throttle, so it won't affect idle either. The idle screw is simply lifting the slider, so you would be accomplishing the same thing by opening the throttle slightly. I think you either have something stuck in the slow jet or in the passage that it screws into. I can't think of a video that explains any of this.

im preparing myself mentally to git-ur-dunn tomorrow.
thanks for the tips Weld. i think ill be able to get her up and running tmrw i feel much more confident now that ive done more research. i printed out the tuning and assembly guide from the Mikuni america website which was very helpful. my goal is take two videos tmrw, one of the gio sitting at idle and another me ripping it up the block

Godspeed but remember you don't have to be actively riding to hang out in the garage with us shop bums.
