Mods began on the Venom X22R 250 - Page 9

Seem crazy that a full size X22R is so light at only 254 Lbs. Thanks for paving the way with all these mods Jerry. If Venom ever gets them Street legal in Canada I might get myself one.

They really are good bikes. I’m absolutely loving mine. I pretty much follow Jerry’s mods as he makes good choices and has good taste! lol

You sure they are not street legal I Canada?. These bikes are shipped out of the Canada warehouse.

Well I got the Wiseco 11:1 piston and Hot Cam ordered. Not the wait. Hopefully it all will be here Friday. I'll have a weekend project with the porting and install.

Gonna do the single layer gasket with the piston for the extra bump?

11:1 on an air cooled engine is already pushing it. It needs to be reliable as I use it for a daily drive.

If anything I would spring for a thicker gasket. This is basically what I wanted to do with an re250.

Yes I have the stock crf230f gasket ordered. Once I pull the head I can calculate the CR.

It's a lot of red tape to get a bike legal in Canada, to my knowledge CSC and CCW are the only road legal Chinese bikes. Venom talked getting a few legal years ago but nothing came of it. They only have ebikes that are street legal here.

Canada must have the same EPA regulations as California.

I emailed Venom. They are still waiting on approval from the government.

In Canada, it's federal only, not provincial. You have to give a bike to them to destroy and you can't make any changes once it's accepted. If you do make production changes, you start over. As a result, few China brands have ever hit the road in Canada.

Just curious. Would the hot cam work well without the higher compression piston? I guess the higher compression helps low end power that can be compromised with a long duration cam.
