Email Ryan. They may honor it. Worth a try. They have some blue-type thread locker on them. Let him know that the threads came out with the bolt. Sounds like it may have been driven in cross threaded upon assembly.

That's a good point. I suppose that I was thinking I had stripped it when putting the bolts back in, but maybe some of the damage was done before I even dealt with it. Thanks for the tip!

is it possible to tap and thread it one bolt size up? You might need to open up one hole on your sprocket.

If you don't have a tap set you can just buy 2 of the up sized bolts and make a tap out of one of them. The one you will use as a tap should be strong, like a grade 8,

You make the tap by cutting 3 V's into the the bolt. Then Tap slowly using lube.

Good point! I'll check my tap and die set to see if I've got one that'll work. If not, I can make one/pick one up for cheap. Thanks!

Thread repair from a machine shop. Either Helicoil or Timesert.
I've been a machinist and mechanic all my life. No fastener anywhere goes in dry, ever, without some form of prep.
Either thread lube, Copaslip etc, or very mild Loctite.
Always check male and female fasteners, never assume anything.
Also they may not be a std metric thread. May be Metric Fine. Double check. Again.
As for somebody suggesting making a tap, and going o/size, when you can buy the proper tool and cheap - why? Maybe ok for chasing a thread, but not cutting a new one.
Stick to original thread size and get it repaired.

Well, I decided to get a new rear wheel assembly. That way I can fiddle with the old one at my leisure and eventually have a spare ready to go whenever I want to swap wheels/tires. This would also make it a lot easier to swap the gearing around if I want to ride in the dirt more. It may not be a supermoto, but I might set it up similarly given time.

Oh, and CSC was kind enough to give me a discount on the parts! I fall more and more in love every time I talk to them...

Don't see comments like that very much from Hawk owners about their dealers.

If Adam could get his dealers to behave like CSC and get a DOT sticker he would take over the world.

I have a hawk and love it.

I agree. The only exception I've found to that is wheel studs on a car or truck. My buddy who owns a tire shop insists they should be clean and dry.

The important part is you're happy with how it's being resolved and I'm glad to hear it!

It would be cool to lace some lighter alloys on some hubs with a 19 or 18 in the front for a supermoto setup. The only thing is with these stock tires, it may as well be a supermoto with how well they handle the pavement. Just impressed. I can toss Mrs. 2LZ TT completely over in the tight stuff with no apprehension.

And how does she feel about that?

I think it'd be nice to be able to switch back and forth between some street tires with street gearing and the stock ones. If nothing else, I'd like to be a little more planted on the asphalt when I'm commuting so close to the top end of the bike's ability.

Head Scratching TT250 Group ride to Baja

When is the CSC Group ride to Baja for owners of CSC TT250's coming up.
There was a lot of talk about this upcoming ride, but not so much now!
Has it been postponed or cancelled?
Only see messages about another RX-3 CSC buyers group ride to Baja.
