Had a Kawasaki W800 with a sidecar come into town this evening. Looked very retro. Very Triumph-ish.

I was looking at getting the W800 while out shopping for bikes. A couple of things kept me from buying it. One was having to deal with tubed tires and two they wouldn't budge on the MSRP. That's why I ended up with discounted leftover 2020 Vulcan S. Was kind of hard to pass up and don't regret it at all. The KVS was less money and had 10 more HP.

Yer not kidding! I didn't know much, if anything, about the W800 so I looked it up last night. Holy cow they want a lot of $$$ for them!

Yeah, the $7000 KVS looked much better after seeing the $9300 msrp. I did like the Z650RS much more but none to be found near by. This one showed up at my local shop a few weeks ago. https://www.cycleworldofhouma.com/--...il?id=12287557

In my search for a bike when I got the DRZ, I was seriously looking at one of these for a while but I needed something that could handle gravel roads better.

I was looking for a Kawi Z-400 when I bought my Suzuki. Dealers could not keep the Z-400 in stock and the waiting list was long.
That was true for most small bore Japanese bikes I fancied.

The W-650 is usually a lot less expensive than the W-800 if you can find one in good shape. I came close to buying one but it had a lot of miles on it.

Bike for the car show has bubbled to the top, and I'm working with the guy. 1968 BSA B25 Starfire. It's in great condition and the price "seems" right. Been stored more than ridden by an old guy who quit riding years ago. Gonna look at it after the holidays, if he still has it. Here's a pic. Please keep in mind I've been looking at all kinds of older Honda's and the like, but I really want something different and unique.

Jerryhawk, if you'd like to move this thread to "Other", please do.

Neighbour growing up had a 400 Honda ,always did it’s thing perfectly fine .Then he bought a BSA 650 and the morning salty language lesson began .That bike never made a full week to work ,I doubt it even made it twice a week ,but at least he kept the Honda to actually get him somewhere !
The bike would of been ridden and enjoyed had it not been for the mysteries of Lucas and their pure copper connections .

Oh, I know what I'm getting into, that's for sure. Rider? Not so much. Display? Perfect. Once I get the Husky and display bikes ready to go, then I may shop for an old Honda 90 or something.
