Another hint. It is NOT the Royal Enfield we've been talking about here either.

You showed us a pic of your buddy's cool old Brit bike; did you buy that one?

1969 BSA 441 Victor.
Four speed, one down three up. Shifter on the right, rear brake on the left. Lucas electrics. Decent rear brake, front brake needs shoes. The motor has been gone through by a BSA expert and is in good shape. Rebuilt Amal carb. Starts as it should, i.e. impossible if you don't know the drill, hard if you do. Needs tires, proper handlebars, mirrors, and a proper kill switch, horn button, and decompression release lever. Needs fork oil changed, and swingarm bushings, and a good wash/polish. 8) Other than that it's all there. The price was right. Free. A gift. Jerry is getting older and having balance and confidence issues. He sold his Harley and bought a new giant Harley Trike. He only rode the BSA maybe 50 miles in the 2 years he's owned it. He knows I'll be good to it and enjoy it. If/when I sell it, I'll give all the money to his favorite charity, World Relief. In the meantime the children will have to wait, this bike will be fun!

FD,
Very nice BSA and no teasing from me. Actually I would like to have it to tinker with and to do the occasional ride. Always wanted a Victor. Had a 650 BSA back in the mid 1960's. |

A Boyer electronic ignition, a Mikuni carb, a bit of a clean-up and it would make a "rider".

Jerry is very kind, indeed. That's a sweet old bike, despite the mini apes.
At least the kicker is on the right. I'm sure that I lack the coordination for a left-side kicker.

Jerry is a good man. I've been blessed with better friends than I deserve, From Jesus Christ down to Jerry and you guys.
I gave the Beezer it's first bath today. I don't think it had been washed in years. It cleaned up well. I need to find a BSA forum with people half as nice and informed as here and get some guidence. This bike has many odd features. First order of business is stock-ish handlebars, vintage looking grips, motorcycle mirrors, and new tires. I'm thinking of Avons, but I think something with ribs would look 'period'. I have a lot to learn about Brit bikes, but I can see how Honda stamped them into the history books... There is a bike show here in 2 weeks I'd like to bring the Beezer. :P

I'll get you some video soon. It sounds like a Harley but with a sharper bark.
I'll start a new picture thread.
