I have to thank you for your report on the Zongshen bike you have, I have been riding for a very long time and for many many miles. I have seen the chinese bikes in Mexico and Guatemala but I never rode one or even thought about buying one until I started reading about the RX-3 and then I found your reports on the current Zongshen you have. I already put a deposit for the RX-3 but in the mean time I was looking for one of other Zongshen bikes and I cannot find one. I am looking at a Bashan BS200GY-9 and I would appreciate your thoughts on it. I looks nice on the website that I found it and it could be a nice beater in the meantime. Thanks in advance.

You're welcome, and thank you for your kind words. Welcome to the growing community of future owners of the Zongshen RX3.

I'm not surprised you can't find a Zongshen ZS200GY-2 for sale. This bike has been unavailable for several years since Zongshen America closed shop, and the surplus supply of ZS200GY-2 bikes has been consumed.

If you want to learn more about the Bashan bikes, I suggest you search this forum for posts from current owners. For example, you might enjoy reading the following thread.

rx3 tire

Spud ,im not going to be able to afford the 17'' wheel upgrade for awhile...of the very few 15'' rear tires available on the market,, other than csc,,,which one would be able to handle some minor offroad,/ state forest gravel roads?

Someone just joined these forums looking for a dual sport bike with a low saddle height. I believe he posted a question regarding a 28.5-inch saddle height in one of the Bashan threads. If he is nearby, your Zong would be the perfect bike for him.

I agree with Mark; we should express our desire for the 17-inch rear wheel on the thread at ADVRider.

Also, please let Joe know you prefer to keep the cushion hub on the rear wheel. The 17-inch rear wheel on the Minsk TRX 300i does not have a cushion hub. A cushion hub greatly reduces wear on the sprocket, drive chain, counter shaft, and the entire transmission.

However, it's important to have a good selection of rear sprocket sizes if we keep the cushion hub, and get a larger, 17-inch rear wheel. If rear sprocket selection is inadequate, we might be better off to go with the Minsk rear wheel, which lacks a cushion hub, but appears to employ either Honda or KTM sprockets, which are available in a wide variety of sizes.

Did you notice the center stand on the bikes moving down the assembly line? A center stand is just about mandatory for any adventure motorcycle, or any bike weighing 385 pounds, for that matter.
