Carb hose disconnected on new 250

Hello and thank you in advance.

I don’t know much about carburetors. First bike.

This is a brand new Motomax 250.

The hose going from the front of the carb (where the carb connects to the cylinder) is just laying disconnected. I’m assuming the bike would idle much nicer and stay running with it connected. It’s under vacuum and if you plug it the bike dies.

I have included a couple pictures.

I also notice a small nipple in the back upper right of the pic showing the disconnected hose. Is that where it goes?

My fuel line running from the tank to the carb was not attached to the carb ,but all other lines were.. You may want to make sure the bowl drain valve is shut on the carb. Mine was open ,and I lost some fuel.

That’s looks to be correct. Hard to see it. That box should also have a larger hose as well that connects to the right side of the engine just forward of the spark plug. If so plug it in. It’s part of the emissions system.

I took a couple pictures of the top and bottom of that valve near the engine. I appreciate your response. It runs with it connected but the idle seems high. Maybe that’s what I need to adjust next.

That’s it, keep it plugged in. Adjust the idle. If should be 1500 rpms when warmed up. My bike always idles low when cold.

So I used my Mac tools multimeter. It has a clamp for the spark plug to check rpm. I’m not able to adjust it below 2000rpm without the bike dying. Any thoughts. Thank you.

Did you adjust the valves ? Have you rejetted the carb yet ?

If the valves/jetting and then air-idle mixture screw aren't properly set, it will have trouble idling.
