It needs a little work on the suspension and a set of hand guards but otherwise it was great. I got the hand guards from CSC but I didn't lie them. I was expecting something to come loose but nothing did. I rode about 150 miles in the desertt, lot of gravel roads and rocky passes. The only damage was a broken clutch lever after a hard drop in a gully where the ground gave way. The highway riding was something else, going uphill 139 from Reno I could only hit about 55mph. It's only a 250 so I couldn't ask for more. On the way back I was very nervous because of the snow and a new set of tires that felt really slick but I managed to stay on the bike. The only problem I had on the trip was towards the end when I got my phone stolen. I left it on the handlebars and went into a gas station to use the restroom and when I came out it was gone. Overall I had a positive experience with the bike and it's durability.

Thats so trashy. ..to take a phone. They have so much data and personal items in them now...make sure you go on to google or in wherever and lock and erase your data!. Id not like to think of some creep looking at pics of my wife or reading our texts..and looking at my daughters. ..or my son for that matter. I'd risk a felony over that.

Anyhoo....glad you liked the bike! Most of us seem pretty pleased with them. Just have to reorganize your mindset to a slower yet strangely more fun, pace.

I had an 8 digit lock code on the screen so good luck opening it. I deactivated the phone as soon as I got home and I found some pics that updated to my cloud storage.

Hey jbfla
Diggin' the look of your bike nekked, especially the lack of the boomerang shaped front fork guard. Is that what it's called? I can't find any discussion on that. Is it decorative or does it have a function?
Excited to be joining the club... rec'ving my bike tomorrow.
Thanks,
Fernando

Front boomerangs removed and replaced with neoprene fork seal protectors.

My RX3 isn't naked. I only removed the rear rack and top box.

This is naked, or nearly so:

Are you content with the neoprene fork seal protectors? If yes, please send me a link. The boomerangs are the only things I don't like about the look of the bike.
Thx!

On our blue one, they don't bug me as much but on my white one, they stuck out horribly......so a little Plasti-Dip and they almost vanish.

The neoprene seal protectors do protect the seals, but do not protect the lower fork tubes of the upside down forks from damage from rocks, gravel, or road debris.

If I were to do it again, I would likely go with 2LZ's paint job.

Footnote: one of the bolts on the stock fork protectors was fastened so tightly, I stripped the bolt head trying to remove it.

Sorry, forgot to post the link.

https://www.amazon.com/SHOCK-FORK-6-...ords=Shock+sox

These attach with hook and loop (Velcro) straps.

There are several different brands. This was the first that came up when I searched.

jb,
I just bought a CSC RXR which is basically a stripped down RX3. It does not have fork protectors. In your attached photo I cannot see the stock RX3 fork protectors and can't really tell if you have any protectors. If you do would you share what you have and the manufacturer or source. I'd like to have some form of reliable guards for my Inverted forks.
If the protectors are neoprene, do they offer much protection?
Thanks

Head Scratching anyone tried Acerbis Upside Down fork protectors on RX3?

My recently purchased CSC RXR comes without fork protectors for the inverted forks. Has anyone successfully installed a pair of Acerbis plastic upside down fork protectors. If yes, which model or motorcycle brand that Acerbis list did you choose? Or what fork diameter did you select?
Thanks

Thats pretty stripped down, and think of the time you'll save doing valve adjustments Half the time is spent on the bodywork....

Also, lets see your new RXR! pics or it didn't happen

In the photo there are no fork seal protectors.....that was only for a day or two.

Currently I have both the neoprene fork wraps and the stock "boomerangs" installed.
