RC3 new Exhaust

Took my bike to CSC to have a valve checked and aligned and was told by Gerry that my bike had an exhaust leak. He advised that zongshen had reports of other people having issues with this and that the fix would be free.
When i picked it up, he stated the only thing that changed was the catalytic converter is gone and now it is a straight pipe.

As a result of this, the exhaust sounds different. More throaty if i have to describe it.
