Has anyone put a larger tank on thier china bike? Im looking for one for my shineray/roketa db07a.... I want to do some longer riding and have more of a reserve... Anyone know if any of the acerbis stuff would come close to fitting?

I would rather not have to carry extra cans....LOL when i go out riding i prefer to travel light... I would rather have the gas in the tank than on my back...

With a MIG welder, you could fit any tank you wish. You could try a universal Clarke tank, but I suspect that it wouldn't hold much more than your current tank.

BTW, you don't need to carry the cans in a backpack. Quick Fist straps allow you to strap the cans to the fork tubes, and they're cheap and durable.

Plus the weight is the same no matter where it is on the bike, and you don't have to take the extra gas on any trip that does not require it and the cans will work with any machine you have.

A desert tank for my YZF and the KLR would have been in the area of $500 and I'd lose the slimness of both those bikes that I like so much, especially in the technical terrain.

i looked into several chinabike tanks, however the only ones that had the right angle for the seat (how it comes up the tank) were not readily available... i have a shineray/roketa DB-07A, which has a steeper angle to the seat nose as well as extending further up the tank.

I'm looking forward to the installation. The paint looks good; did you clearcoat it?
