2010 Gio Rebel T3 - Ball Joints

Hey guys! New to this forum, i recently bought a used 2010 gio rebel t3, 200cc.

After riding for a bit i noticed significant play from both lower ball joints, went on to figure out that these ball joints are apparently a part of the control arms themselves. Unfortunately i cannot find the lower control arms for the t3 absolutely anywhere, any recommendations?

Thank you!

Welcome!

With some generic eBay searches (like atv ball joint or atv arm), you might get lucky. Otherwise, you might need to grind those joints out of the arms and install replacements that bolt in.

i've tried the above generic searches to no avail, i think I'll have to resort to grinding the joints out of the arms at this point

I suppose i would grind off those welds on either side, take out the joint and install a new one? Any idea where I can find a bolt-on for this?

thanks!!

There is probably no bolt on ,but might get lucky with a snap ring one .Since you have a gio ,I will assume you are in Canada ,you might try looking them up in the Royal distributing catalogue ,but you will need to measure yours up first .

A ARMS from GIO

You are right... no a arms from GIO anymore... the best you can do is to find some ball joints that are about the size of the balljoints once you remove them... have them reamed out and welded into the arms... that is the bad thing about buying some models of GIO,, They quite making the parts and carrying stuff... if you google the maker on ALIBABA or MADE IN CHINA... I think easy vechicle company... they can sent you the parts.. of course they will charge you... and ship DHL it might still be cheaper... I think I paid about $100.00 labour and that was cheap... and them the ball joints...... there is no real way to match them up with some other brand... to much work.. good luck

With good measurements of the stock ball joints, it shouldn't be that hard to find bolt-in versions with a similar diameter. it would then be a matter of carefully grinding the old joint out and bolting in the new one.

I must be missing something but how can the ball joints be welded on? The arms and the welds are orange and the ball joint is bare metal. They should be all the same color if they were welded on right? Try taking off the rubber boot and see if there is snap ring under it. Either way you should be able to then either press or beat the joint out.
