How to oil a 2 stage foam uni filter???

Just curious about oiling a 2 stage foam air filter. Do both the inner and outer foams get oiled? What brand of oil does everyone use?

Thank you. Any preference on brand, spray or bucket soak?

Same as Pete, Spray the inner foam. I use K&N filter spray that I had laying around. Just a light coat is all that's needed.

Maxima and PJ1 brands also make a decent "Foam Filter Oil"

I too oil just the inner, most often with chainsaw bar oil because its sticky. Put a few tablespoons full in a sandwich bag, put filter in, mush it around to distribute the oil.

I may as well chime in with, only the inner with oil, the coarse outer is there to block the big stuff, but you don't want it to hang on to it either.

I use whatever oil is cheapest. I like the sprays just for the easy of application.

I've been using PJ1 in the spray can.
