That said, it isn't likely to resolve your issue. As Jerry pointed out, you need a bigger main jet. When it comes to swapping jets, I prefer to also swap to a Mikuni, since finding jets is much easier and cheaper. A new Mikuni can be had for less than $40 shipped.

To respond to your other question, moving the clip will affect mid-range, not WOT.
Thanks for the advice. Its time to buy a new carb. I will wait to re jet it until I get my new muffler.

Different thread pitch: Keihin .8mm vs Mikuni .75mm
NEVER try fit any Keihin jet on Mikuni. The carb will destroyed in no time.
Thanks for this very helpful info.

Even the stock Mikuni main jet is richer than what came on the bike. I think you will notice an improvement right away.

Just bought a Mikuni vm26 and a jet set. This is the muffler Iam looking to buy:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALUMINUM-EXH...3D321530699660

Is this the right muffler for a Bashan Blaze 229cc pushrod engine?

That is the same exhaust that many of us have on our Hawk 250 and TT 250's. If you bought the Wings jets they only work with the stock PZ30 carb. I think that was what Motocheez was using.

Mikuni N100.604 main jet. That what I bought to fit the ebay carb. I bought my carb for about $34 but with so many people buy them the price will go up.

You're welcome. I've probably installed a dozen 30mm Mikuni carbs, and the results have always been excellent after proper jetting.
