Went for a little jaunt yesterday. RX3 at altitude somewhere in the Blue Mountains, Tiger Canyon road. Came up from Walla Walla which would be in the far distant horizon other side of mountains behind bike. You can see road I came up off on the side of the mountain behind and above bike. Bike performed flawlessly. Altitude didn't seem to effect it at around 5000'. Sorry for meager cell phone pics, all I had. Headed to Hell's Canyon this Wednesday for adv camp trip.

Have fun in Enterprise; it is beautiful over there.

Incidentally, 5,000 feet asl is about as low as it gets in East Idaho. I love the U.S. Delphi EFI of the NC250 engine.

Good to know. I live at 9,200' and rarely get lower than 5,000. Still awaiting delivery. . .

Cheers,

Backfire and Stalling?

I have about 500 miles on my RX3 and life is good so far. However I do have a slight backfire when I close the throttle (as in when I upshift). Separately, I very occasionally have a engine stall when closing throttle, or rarely when first opening from a stop. Not a sputter and die; it just quits. Does not seem to be related to engine temperature. It always restarts fine.

Anyone else experience these traits? I am not too concerned since they are fairly minor and the bike is not yet broken in. But I thought I would check with forum members before asking CSC.

I did experience this at first but now with around 1300 miles it's running good. Only had 3-4 total back fires when chopping throttle and only died on me 2x. May depend some on gas grade. I've tried all 3 and haven't concluded much difference.

What grade are most of you RX3 owner's running in your bike? rj

You'll get to show off the bike to a bunch of people over there. I was there last year and the campground was packed full.

I wouldn't worry too much, but I do suggest you check to make sure the spark plug cap is fully seated. See post #3660 on the previous page of this thread.

I'm using regular octane fuel, which is probably 87 octane at lower elevations. Regular fuel is 85 octane at Intermountain West/Great Basin altitudes.

Hi all, does all your bikes start at first try? In all situations?
My bike used to start at the 5 time, then Zongshen "fixed" and now starts at 3 time.

They say that happen with all the inyections engine. And that it's normal. Is it true?

My temperature climate is around 27° Celcius in case that matter.

Yes, my RX3 starts with a mere tap of the starter button under all conditions. I don't understand what you mean when you say "start at the 5 time."

If whoever you/me/dealer did the set it up and didn't trickle charge the battery a good 24hrs ,that's hard on the battery. Many just put in the electrolyte and install the battery and take off riding assuming a new battery will charge up and last when it wasn't prepared properly to begin with. Kills the life of the battery. Or so I've heard, rj

Now I understand.

No, I don't think your problem is normal. I suggest you start a new thread on this topic, entitled Zongshen RX3 Starting Problems. I think you need to check the dashboard for error codes from the ECU. If you start a new thread, we will help you with that process.

I had to replace my battery too. I replaced it with a Lithium Ion battery.
