06 Zongshen ZS250GS
Hello to you all.
I have been given this Zongshen ZS250GS not running. Compression is ok but I have no spark. I've been reading these thing are notorious for having ignition problems and in most cases the cdi but I wanted to try and rule out electrical before I started throwing parts at it. So here is my question, should the cdi have 12v at any of the wires? There is currently no power at any of the wires on the cdi. How do I know if the cdi is the a.c. or dc model? Should there be power to the coil wire? Thank you. |

Yeah, I saw this thread before I posted but I don't really know how to read it I guess because it still didn't answer my question. I mean, it shows where the wires go, but cdi just shows, ignition wire which goes to the coil, and positive lead wire which goes to the stator, but nine if these actually say, this wire ir that wire should have voltage. Thanks.

You're going to have to get real comfy, break out the multimeter, and start tracing out the wiring from the battery out to the ignition switch, handle bar kill switch, around through all of the safety switches (clutch, side stand) and back through to the CDI. Patients is a virtue with electrical problems on a China bike.
