Yesterday I'd asked a seller on Ebay if he'd mic a 2018 set and he replied with 39.5 and 41mm.?
No worries though. I think I have some 2014's lined up.

Going to be great to get rid of those turd shocks for good.

So the 2018 are smaller, the ohlins kit is for all yrs, does not give u a choice to order for certain yrs.

Did some asking around and someone said the 2014& 2015 are the same and 2016-2019 are the same but they said they have 2 different part# but ohlins has 1 kit for all yrs so if that's the case then mine must be from a 2015.

Found some 14's for $250 + $50 shipping. Tried for lower but meh, I need them sooner than later. Got some steering bearings to do while I'm at it and new tires to put on also. Can't wait.

got my forks in and I ordered some Grom bearings hoping for the best. If they don't fit then I'll take measurements and figure out what I need.

I have consider this and have also looked at the quality suspension builders.
Also tried looking for an match with progressive suspension but; That is a complicated website to navigate through.

No idea which you got... but...that is correct. On the Grom, the 1st gen and the 2nd gen have different fork internals.

The Nd4SPH (however you spell it) fork mod works on the 1st gen but not on the 2nd gen forks.

I looked for the Nd4SPH mod but was unable to locate anyone that had it or where to get it so I just went with the Race Tech springs .065. I have not installed yet but will be an improvement I'm sure.

The mod is basically some parts from a hardware store. The top of the idk what it is called sits inside the fork cap. What the mod is, is that it creates a spacer so that it adds more preload.

https://www.hondagrom.net/forums/49-...ds-better.html

This works only on the 1st gen Grom forks.

For the second gen Grom forks...

https://www.hondagrom.net/forums/7-g...orks-free.html

In the two links, you can see how they're different. I have no idea how the Grom Clone forks are (I never opened mine up).

Either way... I think swapping to the Grom forks like you did is the best option since it opens you up to the aftermarket fork internals.

Gen 2 Grom preload on Boom Vader forks

Take down was a bit different than expected. I found you need to remove forks from the triple clamps to enable one to grab ahold of the caps to remove.
Shush319 On the Honda Grom site 8/13/17. Explains his dilemma and what he found.
I have a BD125/10 and appears to be near identical to the Gen 2 and so can do his mod to gain some preload.
You see 1 shock in the normal position and the other has the approx. .5" threaded towards the cap. Hope this does it. I can't find my measuring cup.
Anny idea how much in each fork is needed?

wlfpck Thanks for that write up, I was aware that it did consist of some hardware items but did not have a list to go by. Next yr when I get around to improving the forks I might try this along with new fork oil and the race Tech springs. Thanks again.

No problem!

This is the part list that is for the 1st gen Grom to do that ND4sph mod.

2x - 59363-F - 1in Spacer (5/16ID - .469in OD - 1in Long)
4x - 3815-F - Neoprene washer (7/16ID - 1in OD)
2x - 43110-N - M8x50 1.25 pitch bolt
2x - 43893-E - Small M8 Washer

The part numbers are from Hillman.
