Hello, and check out my new Konker...
Hey all, just wanted to say hello and show you guys my new Konker. I used to ride bikes as a kid. Back then I had an RM80 among others. Then I grew up went to college, did some traveling (Asia), and now I have a job. Last couple springs I have looked through the classifieds but could never find the right bike for the right money. Then one day I stopped off at a little bike shop near where I work here in Calgary Alberta. They were blowing these out for $1700, so I did a little research online and the Konker seemed like an excellent way to get back into my old hobby! This same bike sells for around $3000 here. Its been sitting for a few weeks while I wait for the weather to get a little better plus there is a weird legal catch 22 here. Most insurance companies will not insure you without a bike license and of course you need a bike to take the test, what a pain! But eventually I found a company that specializes in bikes so I finally have insurance and plates. Took it for a rip around the neighbourhood for the first time tonight. Here's a couple of pics...I will post more as the season goes on can't wait to get out to the mountains. Cheers guys. ''

Welcome! Sweet little bike. 8)
Like I was saying to another member in your area, it would be great to ride out to MacKay's in Cochrane for ice cream.

Wow, that looks familiar...
So do the distributers (Qlink, Konker, etc.) just put a new oil filter cover on with their name? That is the only Qlink identifier on my bike. Have fun! These are great little bikes.

Konker out of business?
I just learned that the company who distributes these in Canada "Konker" might be out of business, hope I get lucky with this bike ha ha.

I've heard similar comments, but I wouldn't worry about it. You won't have any trouble finding parts.

P.S. You are off to a great start by posting photos on your first thread! You will soon learn, we love photos! Spud
