Steam Show v. 2016

Time for the Northern Illinois Steam Show again. This is how I went.

Lotsa tractors, smoke, roast corn, smoke, engines, smoke, flea market, and smoke. New this year was the 'Prairie State Rail Road'. It's a 7 1/2" gauge working line, running both steam and diesel locomotives. The ties and rail looked 'dainty'. Also new was an exhibit of several Whizzers, one of which was a tandem.

The flea market was good, I scored a NIB 12V fan for the low buck AC unit for all of five bucks. Mrs. C got two pounds each of fresh ground wheat flour and corn meal for four bucks.

The rest of the pics are here. https://www.flickr.com/photos/214992...57672409425945

My left foot is sore but it has been over eight weeks since I wore a shoe on that foot.

So good to see you as a biped! That left foot still looks quite swollen according to the laces, but I bet it's getting better every day. I hope you start a thread about the AC unit.

Was the Smith Motor Wheel the original hover board?

Love the Allstate!

I have the shoe laced loose towards the toes per Foot Docs' instructions. Gives me some breathing room as the day goes on.

The AC power supply is being delivered today, so I'll give it a test run this evening. If I like what I see, I'll start a thread.

I suppose if you were very brave, or stupid, the Motor Wheel could have been the first hover board. I think that might fall into a Darwin Award category, though.

Cool pics! Love the old equipment, some of our tractors back on the farm would have fit right in!
