Any successful TT 250 exhaust upgrades?

I see that some Hawk 250 owners have been trying to adapt this ebay exhaust system to their bikes with varying degrees of success.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/Silencers-Mu...012&rmvSB=true

I have a TT 250 and was wondering if there is any difference in trying to adapt this system to a TT 250 as compared to a Hawk? Has anyone done this successfully yet? Any differences in the mounting or installation?

I would like to try this in conjunction with a carb re-jet. Does the TT 250 use the same carb as the Hawk? If so, has anyone figured out the proper jet sizes for this pipe on a TT 250 at sea level?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Use Google to search, for example, chinariders.net tt250 exhaust

Imo, I think it's easier to use Google than the search function here.

I tried Google and saw about 2 posts that were directly relevant, not 240.

Most posts relate to the Hawk 250 and my inquiry was whether there were any differences I needed to be aware of.

I was most concerned with any differences in fitment issues, since I feel confident with the rejetting the carb.

Anyway, 2lz shows how it's done on that thread.

I'm near sea level. 275'
Took the lid off the airbox, added this exhaust, use a 115 jet.
If you don't modify the airbox, a 112 would be fine, with this exhaust.
With no mods I was using a 110 jet.

I really like that exhaust but I want to know more about the trouble spot near the clutch on the side of the engine... Where the exhaust rubs or is near that clutch bolt. Have y'all fixed that yet? Does spacing the exhaust further away from the bike like someone did give it more room down near the engine? Not seen any updates or read anything, although I know one has been wrapped, I believe by 2LZ.

There are a few colors that catch my eye and I want an exhaust. Seems like a decent deal.

I know the spot you are talking about. 2LZ flattened the metal arm down a bit, so it wouldn't rub. (I believe it was him)
I pushed mine down a very, very small amount. But I think how I tweaked the pipes while mounting made the real difference.
I also have not wrapped the front half of the pipes. That arm would need to be flattened a bit more to clear the wrap, most likely.

As for spacing the exhaust further out, I did that so I wouldn't have to cut the rear plastic tail. That and I like the way it looks sitting further out.

I just takes a little care and time to fit it properly. I flattened my clutch release lever to make some room but that was about it. I wanted to keep the header pipe/head joint as flush as possible so the gasket didn't leak. After you fit the header pipe properly, then you can shim the muffler out a little to miss torching the rear plastics.

It's a hell of a deal for an entire exhaust system, considering name brand units want three times that just for a muffler....and it sounds awesome! Nice and deep.

...and I keep second guessing my choice of aluminum after seeing PNW's black muffler on the white TT250. Oh well, can't have them the same, right!? ;-)

They all keep catching my eye... Gold, blue, red, black, ect. I can't decide which one would look better.

Hahaha Thank 2LZ, I liked the black as I feel it accents the bike a little better. My next plan is to remove the decals and and just have it black and white 😀
