"This is road legal right??"

So after a long dreaded week... I finally went to dmv here in my home state vt. I walked in, handed the papers over and the lady says, " I'll be right back, I gotta go check something" so I got pretty discouraged. She comes back, starts signing the papers and asks "this is road legal right?" I said yep! Lights and horn on it. She said that's great and asked me for a whopping 48 bucks..... I was stunned by the price so I asked her to repeat and she said 48 dollars.... wow! I was told it was 178.00 after taxes but I guess I was told wrong. My dad just bought one to so now we can ride together!

Thats the beauty of these chinese bikes, cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, and you dont pay alot in taxes or insurance.. im in VA and we have to pay personal property (car) taxes yearly so it definitely makes a big difference

You must have low tax rates, not to mention title and registration fees in Vermont?

I'll say. I paid 6% tax on $1,950.00,( almost $120) and $15 title fee, and 2 years registration, which I think was about $35 bucks. All this would be $170, but I paid a local title service a $30 fee to deal with it all, and I also got a temporary tag $10 from them so I can ride it now while waiting for the title, and tag. I also had to insure it before I could do any of this. We have our vehicles insured with State Farm, and they added the bike for $170 per year, which is basically $14 per month.
