The DCT is Honda's automatic transmission. However, I don't know if it is fully automatic, or semi-automatic.

Thanks Spud. The bike looks pretty cool. I'm sure it would make it easier to ride a little off road not having to shift. I read somewhere it could have a starting price around 13k??? I feel like that seems a bit high but I guess your paying for the new technology.

I'm glad the Africa Twin will not have a 'beak' on the front like the CB500x, NC700x and BMW GS 650. I would have preferred a smaller 800cc powerplant, rather than a full liter, but I'm sure Honda did not want to compete directly with the GS800 and Triumph Tiger 800.

According to a artical I read...
Reseach has showen that only 20% of the larger ADV bikes ever go offroad...
So the ADV market for larger bikes is to build them more road based for
the wantabe ADV riders who consider a pot hole on a sealed road or a couple
of miles of road works "Adventure riding"....
After all thats where the market & money is it would seem.......

Here in Houston TX riding city streets is a full blown adventure ride I have bottomed out the RX3 suspension on giant concrete/asphalt ramps in the middle of the road. Potholes that cracked the wheel on my wife's car. I have caught air on my Triumph at 35 mph surface streets. I have ridden washed out dirt roads with large jagged rocks hanging out of the surface that where way smoother. This place is like riding on the surface of the moon with gravity.

I love that Africa Twin we should see them here by the end of June 2016.

I catch air a few times per commute on my scooter in the Houston area. Cracked, buckled concrete roads are very rough on a scooter with minimal wheel travel.

Every body drives like it's a adventure rally too there. Fast. It's a big spread out town.
