2007 Kawasaki KLR 650

Spring is almost here. Time to ride. Reluctantly selling my trusty KLR 650. 11,475 trouble free miles.

The bike is in overall very good condition with the usual dings and scratches. The bike has been used for its intended purpose and has been off road, trail ridden, moto-camping and touring through Colorado’s wonderful backroads.
Adventure ready.

Additions include:
Large top case
Skid plate
Engine guards
Saddlebag racks
Hand guards
12v and USB outlet
Tool/burrito tubes
Seat pad
MSR shifter
Wider foot pegs
LED flashing brake light
Clymer Repair Manual
More reliable manual petcock
16t counter sprocket and original 15t sprocket
Stainless reusable oil filter

I also has the Eagle Mike sub-frame upgraded drill-thru bolt kit not yet installed.

Was told the doohickey was done by previous owner but have not verified.

Clean Colorado title.

Asking $3,500 cash or might be interested in a trade for a small economy car or small SUV that gets really good gas mileage of equal value.

I have the tools if you want to check and verify the "Doo"

I doubt I will have enough $$ for another bike anytime soon

You are first only owner?

The white has held up.. have seen others of color that have faded due to years.

I'm sure yours has lived a good life in a secure garage and has been properly fed over the years

BB,
I'm the second owner. Bought the bike in 2012 with only 3,000 miles on it, 11,500 on it now. The bike is Silver and Black 2007 only colors. The red and green bikes are notorious for fading.

The bike has been great. Reliable, runs really well even at altitude. It got me back in to riding after a 20+year lay off. Really hate to sell it but I need room in the garage and have mostly been riding the RX-3's and TT.

Sounds almost like my exact situation, except I gave up on trying to sell my '06 KLR. Ran out of room in the garage so I'm parking it elsewhere these days. Tried to sell it, but all those Internet clowns who told me they could buy a good used KLR for what a new RX3 cost did neither. I don't ride the KLR but maybe once every three months or so to keep the fluids moving, but I'm just going to hang on to it.

Sold sold sold!

After getting thru the initial wave of scammers offering full price sight unseen but pay with a (fake) cashiers check or money order, the Craigslist flakes who offer half price without looking at the bike, I got several legit inquires.

Joe, I feel you pain with the internet clowns. The KLR has been a really great bike for me and has done everything asked of it a more. But it's time to move on.

Must be the Indian Summer we are having here in Colorado at the moment cuz I had a lot of legit interest in the KLR 650. Showed the bike to a couple of really nice guys yesterday evening. One ended up buying.

Many times people are somehow offended if the deal is revealed. So you know my question. But of course don't feel obligated.

Just another Web nut.

BB, that's like asking a woman how old she is....

Truthfully, the $3,500 asking price was my going in, Craigslist starting price. A bit on the high side but not so high as to turn off interested parties. I'm also realistic and know that I'm not going to get back everything I've invested in farkles. I expected to be negotiated down but had a reasonable floor I would not go below. Overall, I'm pleased with the outcome. I took less than a 10% haircut off the asking price and the bike sold quickly to someone who will hopefully enjoy it as much or more than me.

Heck, I didn't even wash the bike before I sold it.

Well there you go, that wasn't so hard. Virtually your asking price, and if in any good negotiation you probably increased it by 500 to begin with.
