Ok, well yep... That's the guy.

When I first bought my bike it had the wrong speedometer cable put on it, and I contacted them via email the next day. He had me bring the bike back and swapped the cable for the right one. So no problem.

Now, the rear brake is sticking and I've tried everything so I need to swap it. I emailed yesterday, so hoping to get the same good service. I absolutely need a new rear brake, because I can't even ride with it sticking.

Adam,

The law was/is for automobiles, not what you sell at RPS. The old outdated law is why Tesla Motors is having some problems selling direct in a few states, but not all of the United States. Your law firm for RPS gave bad advice and they are wrong, you can sell direct and you should!!

Tesla is what came to mind for me as well. It's not well know but GM also has a program that allows you to buy a car directly from them with out going in to a dealership. They deliver it right to your door already prepped.
RPS would conceivably need another kind of dealers license as well. But something tells me it's more about instate taxes. Granted attorneys air on the side of caution when deciphering laws and offering advice. My guess why they won't sell direct out of state is extra legal protection in the form of the "dealer" the end user purchased from. If something happened and there was a lawsuit filed the "dealer" be in the middle of the paper trail even though there is a good change the "dealer" never had it in there physical possession.

Me thinks this is close to the truth
