New Zongshen 200GY-2 Bikes: $1,499, Delivered

This website is advertising my Zonghsen 200GY-2 motorcycle for $1.499, with free shipping. That's a good deal. I wonder if this vendor actually has any bikes in stock?

http://www.about-china-atvs.com/zongshen-sierra.html

I can't determine where this vendor is located. He provides only an email address to contact him. I sent him an email asking for his location. I hope this deal is not too good to be true. I will report if, and when, I receive a reply to my email.

If he actually has the bikes that is an excellent deal, especially with the free shipping!

If that deal is for real it is excellent.

If I had the time, money, and space (I don't) I'd buy one just to have for when I needed it. OR buy it at keep it at Spud's. I could ride it when visiting, PLUS he'd Spudify it while I was gone! LOL! 8)

If that's for real and they have them in stock everyone's "What should I buy" question is clearly answered. :P

So far I haven't received a reply to my email. However, the vendor says he will reply within 24 hours, and that amount of time has not expired. It's hard to believe there is still a stock of 2006 bikes left; however, it's possible. We will see what transpires.

That's tantamount to teasing Canadians.

I'd love to get a Zong engine in the crate to save for my TW, for when it finally grenades.

I might be able to help you. I've been thinking about getting a spare Zong engine, myself. The last time I checked, Zongshen America didn't have any ZS167FML engines in inventory. However, I'm going to check again.

A Yamaha, XT225 engine would bolt right into my Zong's frame, and the sprockets would align. Therefore, I really should keep my eyes open for a good deal on slightly used, XT225 engine.

I've been thinking the same thing, and I could certainly swap the TW countershaft over. The extra 25cc would be nice.

When I was a lad, I had a TS100 (still have it), and it was incapable of pulling the front wheel. My buddy had a TS125, and that made all the difference. I could carry the front wheel through second gear. I recognize that was a 25% increase in displacement, but 12.5% would still be noticeable.

The TW200 guys are always making modifications to their bikes. However, I never heard of anyone putting the TW200 countershaft into an XT225 engine. I might be wrong, but I seem to remember it won't work. I do know the XT225 has a 6-speed transmission, and the XT200/TW200/Zongshen engine has a 5-speed transmission. :?

I haven't received an email from the vendor. I guess I am not surprised. I doubted any surplus, 2006 Zongs were still available in the United States. :( I wonder why people keep outdated websites in operation? :?:

I'd like to see Zongshen America import the ZS150-GY10 motorcycle owned by forum member Jeremy in the Philippines. However, I don't believe that bike is arriving in the United States in the foreseeable future. I must infer Zongshen America is downsizing. :? Our forum members who bought Zongs for $1,000, delivered, got fantastic deals, which will probably never be repeated.

So, the Zong Sierra is the '57 Chev of the China bike world? Ok, I'll buy that.
