Try a new spark plug. You guys are lucky with these iridium plugs. We always had to carry a spare plug and a spark plug wrench when we left home, even just to cut a few figure eights out in the back forty...ARH

I changed out my spark plug, im still having the same issue. Although, I think the spark plug maybe made it better, I reslly cant tell.

I'm able to get the engine to hit the rev limiter at 8500, however right at 6500, it starts to lose power slightly and by 7k it sounds almost like its hitting the rev limiter, but I'm pretty sure it's misfiring, like every couple times.

My head is leaking oil, so thisbqeekend I'm taking it off and while I'm at it gonna do some porting and decking , I bought a new head gasket from csc, and then retighten the head. I'm thinking it may be losing compression. I'll report back if it fixes the problem. if not then I'll replace my ignition coil i guess

If I am understanding this correctly, I need to order two, possibly three things.
1. Coil: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...CG2U31BM&psc=1
2. Connector: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...OUK533GU&psc=1
3. If I'm lazy, YES, short boot: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...KIKX0DER&psc=1

Does that look right? One wire from connector to ground, the other goes....where?

#3 above is wrong, don't waste money on it.

I'm guessing the other wire is ignition and that's what you were talking about soldering and heat shrinking. Further guess is it comes off the old coil and will be pretty obvious.

I did not want anything of the sort until I saw this thread. I thought it was interesting. It was cheap. Jerry claimed his bike ran much smoother when he did it. It was a reason to tinker. Like building the ground strap out of 8 awg wire and the positive strap that leads to stator or whatever the hell. Why does anybody do anything?
