It really didn't matter if the retainer clips were properly engaged or not ,it would still fly off at speed with alarming regularity , I suspect your experience may be a similar situation , if there is a way to add a little zip tie magic as backup in an unobtrusive manner I'd highly recommend it .

That's how HD makes their money, replacing parts that fall off. I've picked up enough HD parts along the highways to build a mongrel bike.

Going to head to the mountains of Western North Carolina where the motorcycle riding is wonderful in a month for the summer. The girls are ready to go.

Something a little different. My new to me 2012 Royal Enfield C5 with Cozy sidecar with some optional upgrades. At the local RE dealer's open house bikini bike wash.

This bike is electric start only? No kick start? It has disc brake front and drum break rear? And the absolute maximum top speed is 80ish mph?

If you are asking about the RE it has a kickstarter and estart.
The DF does not have a kick starter.

I'm referring to DF250RTG/Venom Sportster Chopper 250cc (was told same bike). What is DF and RE exactly? I'm guessing shortening of model names.

The DF250RTG does not have a kick starter. It is a carb bike so is easy to push start if needed.

Since it uses the same engine as all the Dongfang full-size bikes, you should be able to add one if you needed to? But, as you pointed out you don't necessarily need one.

I see. Off-topic question, does any kickstart kit work. Is there a specific one I have to buy. Can you recommend a kickstart kit for the DF250RTG?
