I think the price is $84 for both tires, with free shipping.

Haha I was looking at getting the 700 for the rear. Just curious, is it bad to mix and match tires front and rear? (244 and 700)

Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to mix a Shinko, 700 rear tire with a Shinko, 244 front tire.

Chain clearance..Hawk

I just measured the rear tire. The width of the stock knobby is 5.16 from knob to knob. Can someone measure their Shinko 244 for comparison?

Crazy idea...

Will the Shinko 244 5.10 fit the hawk?

No, the Shinko tire in question is designed for a 3.00-inch rim.

I love buying tires and other bike parts from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. They have good prices and a very large selection. Every purchase earns buyer's points, and you get free shipping for any order over $75. In addition, if you place your order before 5 p.m. Rocky Mountain time, the order ships the same day. Also, RM ATV/MC ships via FedEx, so they make Saturday deliveries. If I place my order before 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, I will receive my parts the next day.

I second the praises for Rocky Mountain... Excellent service during and after the sale!

Haha I was looking at getting the rear in the 700 series. Just a bit more but looked flatter for pavement without sacrificing too much in the grass/dirt categories. lol

I recommend the following tires for your motorcycle. You should be able to use your current inner tubes with these tires.

Shinko 244

Front tire: size 3.00-21
Rear tire: size 4.60-18

Shinko 700

Front tire: size 3.00-21
Rear tire: size 4.60-18
spud, just as a heads up I have 2000 miles on my set of shinkos on my bike, with a 110/80-16 on a 2.1" front and a 130/80-16 on the 2.35 rear with no problems.... is it ideal? probably not.... but it hasn't caused me any trouble either.

That's good; I'm glad you are enjoying your tires, and they are working well for you.

I do encourage you to regularly inspect the inner tubes for wear caused by friction/rubbing with the sidewalls of the tire. If you notice any thinning/blemishes on the inner tubes, replace the inner tubes before you get a flat tire, which usually occurs at the most inconvenient time.

How hard is it to change a tire/tube on the hawk? I forgot how much knobbies suck on the road.
