Back on point, does anyone know if stock Zong rims are a lot heavier than aluminum?

Are the rims on the RX3 1.85 wide or 2.15? I'm trying to figure out what kind of rims the TT250 will have and how I can shed weight in the wheel assembly of the TT250.

Thanks for the info Spud! You installed the warp9 rims which are very similar to Tusk Impact from what I've read. Now that you've had your rims installed for a while have you had any issues with the Warp9 staying true or denting?

dunno bout the TT250 yet, (gimme a week or 2 but if its Anything like the Zong Sierra, you can bet Everything will b pretty darn heavy!(those things are built to b indestructaby strong), I'd go ahead and start looking for some good aluminum rims if lightening up is the way your heading. I think the Lotus race car guy, Chapman (and the Shelby too, for that matter) both were of the opinion that you don't need more power as much as you need less weight!! (PS: if you"re patient enough to lace up wheels check with Human Being for upgraded lighter and stronger spokes)! And, replacing that lead battery with a good LI one will save u a ton of weight! oh, and while at it, upgrade those tubes with lighter and stronger ones. I like the Michelin's but the KTM mechanics round trackside can tell who is the current favorite. I can vouch that EVERYTHING improves as the weight, (YOU TOO) and rotating mass, go down

I'm confident the rims of the CSC TT250 are the same size as those of the Hawk motorcycle. Post a thread and ask the Hawk owners to check their rims for size markings.

My Warp9 rims are very well manufactured, and have never caused me any problems, whatsoever.

The RX3 rims are 2.15-18 front and 3.0-17 rear. The 19" front is also 2.15.

Tim, I just got an email from Joe Berk at CSC. He says the the CSC TT250 has the following rim sizes.

Front Rim: Size 1.85-21
Rear Rim: Size 2.15-18

Yup, it sure did!

Here is the blog post where it says that the boat was outside the harbor docking the next day, and Joe mentioned in later posts that he's looking forward to seeing them this week (in their shop).

I did a few searches here and elsewhere, but I couldn't find the info - what is the maximum speed of the TT250? I'm guessing 60 or 65mph?

According to Joe, it indicated 73ish when he was on it with a slightly adjusted sprocket (up from 15 stock to 17, iirc). It depends a lot on your weight though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Edit: I'm definitely planning on playing with the sprockets and putting more street-oriented tires on it as well, so I'm hoping I can give a more specific number soon after I get mine.
