Possibly the XR150? The engine is basically the same frame of architecture as the XR200 engine, and they only use a cleanable screen. The secret is to attach a filter to the vent hose, so as to not draw dirt into the engine.
Honda NX 150 (Engine [maybe] and Some electrical layout - Battery on right side)
Honda NXR 150 ESD (2009) (Frame, Plastics, Attachments, Front Disk, Rear Drum, non-applicable ECM controlled engine - Battery on left side as on Hawk)

SPEC’S
Manual transmission, front wheel size 80/100-21", rear wheel size 110/100-18", 250cc air cooled single cylinder four stroke engine, electric and kick start, seat height of 35.4”, front and rear hydraulic disc brakes.
The RPS Hawk Dirt Bike features an air cooled, four stroke single cylinder 250cc engine and a top speed of 59 MPH.
I own an XR100 and an XR200 (both 2002). XRs have overhead cams (perhaps based on CB engines?).

The Hawk is a 229 cc version of the Honda CG engine which is the same type of engine that is used on the Honda NX 150. The camshaft on CGs sits inside the engine case and is connected to the valve lifters via pushrods.

Does anyone know which Honda OEM clutch cable(s) fit the Hawk? I had my clutch cable routed too close to the exhaust pipe. The heat melted both the vinyl housing and liner )-;

This isn't the Honda OEM cable, but I got a new cable for mine here:
http://www.vmcchineseparts.com/colle...bike-version-7

It is 1" longer than the original cable, made it a little easier to route, and functions well after I got everything adjusted.

I ordered some other stuff like levers from there, and they all work, but are a little smaller than what the Hawk comes with.

Ichrisbot,

This is exactly what I need. As you know, the stock cable is a tad short making it difficult to route. Especially when the rubber clamp falls off. I didn't make sure there was a washer on both sides of the bolt that held that clamp in place. It's probably somewhere on the trail, buried in mud. Zip ties are more reliable and easier to replace (-:

Thanks a million!

Front wheel axle nut

Can anyone tell me what size nut is on the front wheel axle? I'm very new to bikes in general and my hawk came with this nut missing so I can't even ride it yet :(

Take your axle with you to any hardware store. My favorite is ACE Hardware. They have a great selection of fasteners.

"Helpful" insinuates that other hardware stores are lacking or less than ...shame shame shame... Can't have them feeling bad. I guess they should just say Ace is a store.....and that will pacify the weenies.

Mikuni Manual

Hey everyone, first post so hopefully I've posted correctly and in the right location.

This link might be helpful to those who are new to carbs/tuning (added bonus: it's specific to the VM model of Mikuni carbs):

Man i havent been logged in forever. College has been pretty hectic. Atleast i get an extra day off because of the hurricane.

Thanks for the manual. I already put it on my flash drive. Hopefully one day soon i will be able to pick up the Hawk.

Considering Hawk 250

I have some questions:
- Seat height, can you lower it and how.
- Is it legal in Tennessee, assume you get some paperwork to register it.
- The Hawk is $360 cheaper than the Pro Bozz 250.
- Do these bikes have rear drum or disk? I read and see different specs.

I am debating to buy a RPS Hawk or Pro Bozz 250. The price difference is about $360 (Pro Bozz more expensive)... look very similar, except the instruments, inverted front struts and fake carbon fiber panel accents. I like to get rear disk, but some have drum (may be all have drum).

Seat height. I am 5'7". I have been riding motorcycles for almost 40 years with a 15 year break in the middle. I am use to tippy toe on bikes. I currently have a BMW R1150RT which I modified seat, I can't flat foot both feet,... but it's doable. Can I lower this. I guess I can move front forks up in triple clamp, cut the rear shock spring and take out padding in seat (although it looks minimal now). I know the "Magician" has a lower seat height, but not digging on the looks.

Is there issues getting these licensed.

I went to Vietnam and Thailand and love the little scooters. That is what got me into looking at China bikes. I want a small bike to take to the store or back up vehicle, may be have some light trail or dirt road riding.
