That is a nice find, Oengus. I wanted to give your discovery more exposure, so I moved your original post, and created a new thread on this bike.

The TMEC seller has two shops in Utah, and I believe he had a display last fall at the Utah State Fair. If my memory is correct, I believe I saw the supermoto version of this bike when I visited the Utah State Fair.

I gave the bike a close up inspection for a few minutes, and the build quality seemed to be pretty good. Below is a link to another vendor for this motorcycle.

Spud, we are going to need you to take the zong down to Utah.

Maybe we can set up a chinarider review.

I wonder what the freight charges are. I don't see any shipping prices.

It looks like a good deal, but that could be a deal breaker.

Here is link to TMEC, Crazy Carl at MYCHINAMOTO.com covered the Dealer Expo, but he had no comment on them. They and the bikes were there, looking for dealers.

TMEC website: http://www.tmec.net.cn/index.htm

They seem to have some interesting products coming out of Jiangsu Province. I am fairly certain that the major supplier for what was the Tank line is in that area and is called XLMCO which is an acronym for Jiangsu Xinling Motor Co.

I would say these new bikes seem to be of better quality? Better then the old inventory being heavily discounted?

I personally do not think that warranty needs to go beyond 12 months, its about the break in/ wear in that is what should concern people. If the engine has a flaw that’s when its likely to show up. Warranties should be all factory backed…not distributor added.

I would say these new bikes are better quality? Better then the old inventory being heavily discounted?

I would contact TMEC and find out who is the USA distributor and if products are warranted from the factory. The engine specs are real close to that of the Qingqi.

One of the TMEC dealerships is in American Fork, Utah, which is only a short distance south of Salt Lake City. I would guess this dealership is the one that had the display I visited at the Utah State Fair last fall. Pitster Pro is also located less than ten miles away, in Lindon, Utah. Therefore, one reviewer could see both the TMEC 200, and the Pitster Pro LXT 400 during the same trip.

So do we still talk about whether it is a balanced engine or not. Some were and some were not? How about this one.

Several people have successfully registered the Zongshen 200GY-2 in California.
