That's good to know. I'm around 4500' so hopefully it won't take too much fiddling. On the other hand, messing around with it does sound like a lot of fun. Regardless, I'm fully expecting to play with alternative sprockets.

Oh, and my delivery should be Friday, assuming all goes well. Why it should take a week to drive from LA to SLC, I'm not sure, but that's the estimate. In fact, judging by the tracking information, it's only been picked up from CSC, with no further update. Ah well, I'm sure they'll get it to me one way or another.

I'll just take it as an opportunity to work on my zen. The bike will come when it will come... om.... the bike will come when it will come... om...

Heck! 4500' it may be just right for you! I'm looking to change the pipe and fiddle with the carb on Mrs 2LZ TT but not until it's broke-in. I want her to be stunned and amazed at the difference after it's modded. You can just tell there's so much more in there to come out.

Good luck on the delivery! Keep us posted! PICS! PICS! :-)

re front tire, I know Ryan at CSC wanted to swap out the front when he was planning a trip to the motocross track. I suggested maybe an IRC TR-8 and he laughed. Turns out CSC is now supplying TR-8's and can put em on the TT250's for you.
Won't know for sure till mine arrives(TT250) but looking at that front tire, I got a TR-8 replacement sitting here that I ordered before I heard CSC has em. Helluva nice looking knobby that I think will go a long way towards solving the front washout problem.
Just to follow up, the tire pressure was up around 30-35 psi. Not bad for the street but in the dirt it was very squirly. I lowered them down to about 22 psi and it felt much better. However, when I was coming down a hill on my ride Monday morning, the front washed out on me in a sandy section (still not quite sure what happened) and resulted the bike going down and me going along with it. I ended up bending the bars and the rear brake pedal/lever. I was able to bend the brake lever back but need to order some new bars. I am going to try and wear the stock tires out as quick as possible and probably go with the TR-8's. I have heard good things about them.

Also, my speedo cable broke on Monday morning as well around 40 kilometers. I was hoping that issue was resolved on my bike, but it looks like I will need to contact them for a replacement.

Bummer about the fall, but at least the parts are cheap and you're okay! (I assume you're okay) Perhaps the new speedometers calibrated for miles will have updated guidance or material on the cable.

Thumbs Up TT250 Rock Guard Mod & LED instrument bulbs

I have taken the rock guard to a local shop that does Line X pickup bed coatings. The guys coated the rock guard for me to match the black frame.

The stock instrument light bulbs have been replaced by LED bulbs. The left turn indicator light and the bright light are stock the others are LED bulbs. The white bulb on the speedo was also changed.

You can also try using imgur.com. It's free and simple to use.

Beyond that, I think you can change the privacy of those photos on your drive to "anyone with a link" or "public" and that should take care of it.

Update: Even though the speedo cable broke around 95 miles, I've been diligently riding the same 30 mile "mixed" loop every evening to put miles on the TT and get it broke in, so I figured that it's got about 200+ on it now.

I'm noticing that it's really starting to loosen up quite a bit now. The mid-range is sticking around longer as the motor gets hot and it's pulling longer, farther, up the same long hills. I'm still doing my best not to push too hard above 5000. Fortunately, it produces some good grunt between 5-6. The little tach I installed has become invaluable.

For most of the ride, neutrals are findable but by the time I get home and it's good and searing hot, not so much, but it's getting better daily. I'm running 15/40 oil in it currently for break-in.

I know there's been comments here about the tires but for the dirt, gravel, and twisties I'm riding, these things are perfect for these surfaces. In the canyon, I can toss it completely over without worry. The stock tires grip great....though they do have a bizarre hum.

The last two days, I kept hearing this rattle, on longer up-hills when the motor was really pulling. I kept looking down and listening, wondering if it was the air pump valve opening under load or some motor rattle when it was scorching hot, etc...but couldn't locate it. I wasn't too worried, warranty, right? I also noticed about 3/4 of the way through my ride last night, the rattle vanished. Well, I got home and I found half the license plate frame gone. Found the rattle! ;-)

So far, I'm really enjoying this bike. The seat is super comfortable, the handling and cornering, even in the tight stuff, is smooth and predictable and the bike seems very solid under me.

Once it's broke in, mods will be a pipe, probably a Mikuni and also, it needs a smaller rear sprocket once it's developing some more power. You get to 5th gear awfully quickly. It needs some longer legs.

Over 200 miles on her now. Jetting has been perfect, maybe a tad rich because I don't use the choke for starting. I'm at 2000'. Rerouted brake line and speedo cable. Also rerouted clutch cable. Much better now. Wish the gearing was a bit taller. Maybe 2 less teeth on the rear.
