Has anyone seen this bike in the US?
It's the new Shineray XY200GYVII. Other Shineray models are available in the US. What about this one? Pumpkin told me that he has seen it on here somewhere. I can't find the thread. I like the look of the camo version. It would be a great all-purpose hunting/farm use bike for me. Something my QLink was supposed to be. I like this one better.
Any help would be appreciated! SamM

Sam, that bike has been talked about lately, but the member is picking it up in China.
I really want that gas tank. I have to fill up every other day right now. Allen

Thanks Jim, that's what I was looking for! Think he'd ship one to me?
Probably not available in the US yet! This bike would make me forget about the Kawasaki KLX250S that costs a great deal more. I could keep some of my money in my pocket, if i went for one of these. SamM

I've been told that bike will be for sale in Canada soon, but not as a shineray. I'm still waiting to see what brand name is slapped on the tank and I'll et the forum know when I know.
I did order one of these bikes. The colour has been a hard decision. Thew green camo is offical China army paint so the factoy can't realy sell it to me with out making probems for themselves. I've decided to go with the unseen desert camo (legal for me to have in China) rather than that red bike. As for export I'm not sure if the factory is going to be putting out any more of the jungle/ woodland esq camo. If the company wanted to make a good looking camo bike they should have stolen the Canadian digital camo and put it on their bike. The photo above is actually a preproduction model and the production version of the red bike has an ugly flat red frame like this one. . The bike is also available with your choice of 150cc,200cc or 250cc Shipping to the states door to door from China on an individual bike basis would aise the price a lot. Probably about $600-800 depending on where you live |

I've been looking at too many luggage racks lately. But isn't that a luggage rack over the head light? Cool idea.

They haven't been putting dual lay-down shocks on bikes
since the early 1980's? I wonder why they would go that route instead of the mono shock???

if it is the camo you want, you could have the plastic dipped in liquid camo. This is what they did on Orange County Choppers when they were building the OCC enduro.
just Google Camo Dipping and you could possibly find someone close to you that does the dipping, as there are several companies in the states that do this Film/Camo Dipping... Here's a video on how it's done. http://www.camoent.com/process.htm Pictures fo the OCC Enduro. Scroll to Screen 8 of 8 it is the Last bike. http://www.orangecountychoppers.com/occ/onairtheme.html

But has had some improvements made to the swing arm, frame, brakes, elc.... The dual shock vs the mono shock won't make much, if any difference for the way these bikes are meant to be ridden |

I agree, the lay down shocks are not bad. My 1979 KX125 had lay-down shocks and it rode much nicer then my brothers '79 YZ125 with mono-shock. I'm just surprised to see that design used, even on a china bike.

travel, and cruisers go for a more classic look which is not found with a mono shock.

I agree with your first point, but as far as the classic look I guess that depends... I have a vulcan 800 classic and it is a mono shock, that was one of the main reasons I liked it, I didn't like the look on the cruiser with out it, its like a harley softail...
I wasn't trying to argue though, just comment that they do use them on cruisers...

The manufacturers use of dual rear shocks is probably much simpler, than the... nobody has used these since the 80's, so I think we will thought. I would think the reason behind using two rear shocks is one of relability. This bike looks like it was designed as a miltary scout/messenger bike or AG bike. Mike posted that he couldn't get the camo version because it was a military model. One shock would have a single point of failure. Two shocks offer the potential of getting back to friendlies or the house. Depending on your use! The chance of both shocks failing is remote, unless the bike is used beyond it's design limits. If you are using the bike as a military scout/farm vehicle as opposed to a solely recreational vehicle that would matter. I would think this design would work better for that type of use.
That's just off the top of my head! SamM
