Gy125 (por apache 125) illuminated clocks?

Hi all, I'm working through my project bit by bit.. I've installed some new tiny clocks on a custom bracket, the clocks have two electrical wires coming out of them, identical to the original clocks. What are they for? I presumed there'd be a little bulb that lights up the clocks when the actual lights are on, but that doesn't seem to happen. I've even put the original clocks back on to test, but they don't illuminate either. (I suppose both clocks' bulbs might've blown)
Any ideas?

I recommend that you test the bulbs by applying 12v to the leads. I presume that you touch one wire to the + terminal, and ground the clock to the - terminal.

Do the clocks have neutral, high beam or winker lights in them?

Tbh I couldn't even find a way in to the speedo! Although I didn't try very hard! No, there are no idiot lights in there at all, it's JUST a speedo. I'll smash it open and see if I can find a bulb I can test. Do your clocks illuminate?

Yes, and I think they must. Typically, the light bulb is inserted with a grommet in the back of the clock; can you see one? Have pics?
