My buddy's 1969 Ford XL is completly restored except the rear left wheel arch chrome trim. He can't find it anywhere!

Send me a pic. I will try to find it. Lots of old fords in there.

Gerald does not use a computer. He works on a cash basis. Price goes up for checks and he doesn't take american express.

Also, I know his inventory better than he does.

I might be able to get over there again next Saturday. I actually have to work next week.

Appears to be a 76 GL1000.

I believe we will be going back with some cash for this and the other one.

If the fairing and bags are wasted, it might be a fun bobber project.

I believe that is what my friend wishes to do to one. He has a couple already in pieces and one undergoing a restoration. These would be for parts/ebay funding.

Remember the first generation GL's were not originally designed to be baggers. They were SUPERBIKES. The most powerful technically advanced machines of their day. Not unlike they are now in that way. :P

They make really cool cafe racers.

Go for it!

Today's find. Pretty rough, but it kicks over.

Sweet! An old Bultaco! Reminds me of the old days when I used to subscribe to Dirt Bike magazine, I think one of the editors was a big Bultaco fan. Looks like the one you got needs a little TLC though

Cheers,
Stew

Hoping that the engine is worth more the $25 I paid for the bike. I can't find the shifter? Was going to see if it went into gear.

Going to part this out and hopefully be able to buy a go kart engine.

That's a cool bike, I'd pay $25 for it too... Nice find.

I love that bike! I'm dumb enough to tackle a restoration on something like that. I usually see an old Bultaco on CL every month around here, and it takes all my strength to not buy one.

That is so cool!

And we thought parts for Chinabikes were hard to find! OMG Spanish parts have got to be darn near impossible. 8O

If you part it out I bet you'll really help out some guys restoring their bikes. Vintage dirt bikes are pretty popular around here. BSA's Triumphs, Honda Scramblers, Maicos Butalcos, Hodakas. Great fun!

I will part it out. Couldn't let it be crushed when I know that someone is out there needing that carb etc. It would need pretty much everything to be a restoration candidate. Beyond my current abilities.

Must of it is pretty rusty. The engine, carb, airbox, handlebars, upper tripe clamp look to be salvagable. Frame probably is. The rims are nearly rusted out. Tank is pretty bad, but it may be able to be brought back if someone is desparate.
