Tao 125 ATV L gear and vibration

Just got the D125 Tao Tao ATV for my son. I noticed when I push the gear lever forward it shows as "L" on the display as opposed to "D." It vibrates tremendously with a little throttle. It feels as if there needs to be another gear? Is there a Low Gear "L" and a Drive gear (D)?

The new ones have a digital display. The website says that it's still the old shift pattern, D-N-R. You may have to adjust the clutch to help with the vibration. Check out post #5 from dirtbkr188 here;
