Clever build. I'm not interested in non-internal combustion anything but I respect his engineering!

Doc, I agree. EVs do have a place though.

Golf carts on golf courses. Self propelled wheelchairs. Three wheeled scooters for handicapped people. Chairlifts at ski resorts. Toy tractors for grandchildren to play with on granddad's property. Even the hoist that will lower me into my grave. Plenty of places I see the benifit of EV's.

Exactly. Forklifts too. No fumes inside the warehouse. If I had a real short commute I could see using an EV for it, but the fact that you could never use the vehicle for any distance driving would make it more of toy or third vehicle.

I've had this one sitting on the "warmer", waiting on battery tech to get better/cheaper.
My commute is fairly short, under 40mph.
No oil changes, no tune ups, no fuel...use a belt drive instead of a chain...
plug that puppy into an outlet in the work garage...

Give me internal combustion for trips and hitting the curves...
but this is attractive for when gas hits $4 again, or higher.

Yep, our gas prices here hit $1.12L this morning, 3.785L in a US gallon so $4.24 a gallon here and our dollar is almost at par with yours, and they said to expect $1.20 a litre by christmas.
