Bd125-10 tuning issues

Finally got this bike to at least run with a knockoff vm22 carb, the po bent a grom exhaust to fit this thing and the part that goes to the head now has a pretty major leak, I will likely order a new 2 piece to get proper fitment either way, I’m having trouble with it idling still and it hiccups while cruising, especially while hot, only gets up to about 35mph top speed on a level surface. Bike only has about 20 miles on it, should I just keep it parked until I get this leak fixed? Is the leak why I’m having so much trouble getting it tuned right?

Ordered a new exhaust, finding one that fits the clones is kind of a nightmare

This exhaust piping and slip on muffler worked well out of box for me, just took a while for exhaust piping to arrive. https://mymotorcycleblog.com/boom-va...xhaust-review/
